Turn your homemade playdough into strawberry dough by adding a packet of strawberry Jello along with the flour.

1 cup white flour **

¼ cup salt

2 Tablespoons cream of tartar

1 cup water

2 teaspoons vegetable food coloring

1 Tablespoon vegetable oil

** (heat-treated flour may be used to avoid any possible salmonella contamination)

Mix flour, salt and cream of tartar in a medium size saucepan. In a separate bowl, combine water, oil and food coloring and mix well. Add to saucepan, mix and cook over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently with a wooden spoon. Mixture will look like a globby mess and you’ll be sure it’s not going to turn out, but it will. When it forms a ball in the center of the pot and you can barely move the spoon, scoop it onto a clean counter or cutting board, let cool for 10-15 minutes, then knead it for a few minutes till soft, smooth & wonderful! Store in an air-tight container.
